C-Maine

here is the other name tag I made for the other Charmaine!

Name Badge

Good evening all, here's some more little houses for you. I did this little name badge quite some time ago now but I was wearing it to the famous ATC day held by JVO, my friend Charmaine "yes, another one!" asked me if I could make her one too. Well I said it would be silly to have two the same, so she sugested I make hers in blue and put Maine on it instead of Char, so I will post Maine in a while for you to see what hers is like. Thanks for visiting and please be patient with me because I'm still learning all this tech stuff, I need one of you talented computer genius types to come and help me. Cheers for now :-)

More art soon

I promise to add some more art soon, I know I haven't been adding as I should do but things have been a little busy with exams and such going on the last week. You will all be happy to know that both myself and my DD have passed our final exams of the year with flying colours, we now have a break till Feb. when we will begin Auslan six and two more modules of Deaf culture and community and another in Deaf history. After which we intend to begin full time to complete our diploma of Australian sign language, it will take another eighteen months from July next year, but I'm sure we can do it. For those of you who have been sending good thoughts and prayers my way, thank you all so very much.
Now for those of you who have been wondering what ever happened to the little bird that my DD and I rescued on the way home from TAFE a few weeks ago, this is for you... Well she is doing really well and now is able to fly as well as call for food and is also very mischievious, we all love her very much and have named her Jordy. I'll try and post some photos of her soon so you can all see what she looks like. Talking of photos, have you been on the Phocused site that is linked from this site? well if not do go and have a look at some of our holiday pics, it's my DH site and he has done a wonderful job of showing all the great places we visited, if you look carefully you may see me in a few as well as my birthday being celebrated standing in the middle of a huge glacier.
Oh well that's all for now and please leave a comment when you visit as I love to see who has popped by :-)Take care All xx

Wish upon a star!

Hi All, It's good to be back. I've been busy with exams at Tafe and teaching my lovely group of ladies lots of ink techniques. I started making this frame with the houses in it quite some time ago at a friends house, I finished it off by painting a canvas for the back the other night, I have to add some thing to hang it by yet, I can't make up my mind which to use a chain or ribbon. I will be doing this frame with my students in a couple of weeks time, they have the choice of doing it in different colours and themes so I hope they enjoy the class. I will post some pictures of the results when they finish their works of art. I Had great fun doing this one and I am doing several other samples so I will post them when they're completed.

It's cold this morning

Well it's mighty cold up here in the hills, a sure sign that the skies are getting clearer and spring is on her way. I awoke to the sounds of all the magpies doing a VERY Early morning chorus, I can't complain as I love them so much, we have several families of them living near us and they all have little individual quirks that make them easy to recognise from the visiting ones. Some of them even imitate me now and say hello in my accent which is from the south west of England, quite funny really coming from an Australian magpie.
The big news of the month would have to be my youngest daughter getting her driving licence, she's thrilled to bits and it has really boosted her confidence, I'm so pleased for her but at the same time it gives me mixed emotions because she now doesn't need me so much and I find myself in prayer every time she leaves the house.Daughter number one has returned from her holiday in the snow and is now back in the thick of work, she has a dreadful cold and is coughing well, not good when you work in pharmacy but there just isn't anyone to take her place. The shop I had been teaching at has now closed down but will continue to run as a web shop, this means I will now be doing all my lessons privately which will be a new venture for me, I have a lovely group of students who want to continue exploring inks and stamps with me and some new ones who would like to start. I have been overwhelmed with all the support and offers of work I have been given, I must say even shocked. I'ts been great for my self confidence which is usually pretty low, I am looking forward to having lots of fun with all my new and old friends.

Cards I've Created

Well it seems like forever since I tried to set up a blog, but that's probably because it has been. Oh well I'm not a quitter, so here goes another try....I have just returned from six weeks travelling all around the world and after only two days home was struck down with the flu virus from hell, I'm not joking I thought the end had finally come and on some occasions I wanted the end to come. I am begining to feel somewhat human as of today and thought I might have a play in my studio, well it lasted all of about an hour and then I got all frazzled and hot and bothered so that was that. The weather has been less than joyful outside with rain and cold winter chills through the night, we have had the wood burner on for the two weeks since our return and it keeps the house toasty warm. The dogs are asleep at my feet and Coubah 'the German Shepherd who thinks he's a poodle' keeps putting his head on my lap just to make sure I'm not leaving for another six weeks, he has huge brown eyes that would make even the coldest heart melt.Elysia is recovering well from her bout of flu and Grant and I are pulling through now too, Lori, due to her work commitments has managed to avoid the 'Plague' and is now in New Zealands south Island for some snowboarding, sight seeing and Sky diving!!! I will post more about the holiday with some amazing pictures as soon as I know this all works, so keep posted, bye for now :-)
